Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provide humanitarian service. Promoting high ethical standards in all vocations, our mission of 'Service before Self' aims to build goodwill and peace in the world.

The Lake Minnetonka Excelsior Morning Club was founded in 1996 and currently boasts a membership of more than 70. Our club is open to men and women who either do business or reside in Excelsior/Minnetonka. Our rich heritage of community and world service continues to resonate vibrantly through our club growth

Some of the projects and events our Rotary Club has worked on and supported include:

International Projects:
We have sent medical equipment to India, helped build homes and a library in Chimbote, Peru, supplied computers to a technical school and respirators for a hospital in Grand Bourg, Argentina, and participated in Rotary International's campaign to eradicate polio world-wide.

Youth Action:
Locally, we have sponsored many international students to come to the Excelsior area and study at Minnetonka High School, in addition to sending students from our community abroad to fifteen different countries through the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. For the 2016-17 year, we are sponsoring two inbound and five outbound students.   We are always looking for qualified host families for the students to stay with (3-4 months).  If you are interested, please contact us.

We also sponsor an Interact Club (high school Rotary group) at Minnetonka High School.  This Interact club does their own fund raising and supports local and international projects with time and/or donations.  We are proud to be able to sponsor this group of future leaders.

Local Programs:
Significant grants are given yearly to such causes as the ICA Foodshelf, Tree House, Relate Counseling, Resource West, Hope House, Rotary's Polio Plus program, and to outstanding teachers in our schools.  These are funded by our fundraisers the club sponsors.  If you have an organization you'd like our club to consider to support financially, please complete this form.

Our Club supports a variety of local projects with our member's time:
  •         Meal preparation for youth at Tree House and Ronald McDonald House
  •         Trail cleanup twice/year on the trail through Excelsior
  •         Art on the Lake
  •         Excelsior 4th of July celebration

We also financially support many local events and charities:
  •   Warm Hands, Warm Hearts (donation of gloves and hats to needy)
  •   Fireworks program in Excelsior
  •   Donations for needy families at Christmas time.
