Mike Plant, Lauanching a Legacy

Mike Plant was a Lake Minnetonka kid who overcame many challenges to become America's first single handed yachtsman to circumnavigate th globe three times. On his fourth attempt he perished at sea. Mary has kept Mike's legacy alive by raising money for scholarships that are provided to metro area youth and now the inspiration behind the Mike Plant Center.

 

The center serves over 800 guests in a variety of intergenerational programs from summer camps to clinics, STEM ED and adaptive programs for people experiencing disability for individuals and through Veteran programs and the Courage Center.  We are a service provider for the YMCA, Boy Scouts and IOCP.
